Year 3. Session 3 Week 2.
For this session, the Eagles have been focusing on gratitude which includes journaling about a variety of experiences and emotions. One challenge asked the Eagles to journal about a time that they could not stop laughing. Can your Eagle share with you why they are grateful for this memory? Core Skills has looked a little different this session as the Eagles work to gain more freedom and responsibility in this area. What part of Core Skills is your Eagle most grateful for?
In Quest, the learners continued to explore the power of words and even became words themselves as they embodied messages in the spaces where they learn and grow. The Eagles also focused on word choice and how context impacts their meaning. They observed that while many words can be used to say the same thing, each choice comes with its own special meaning.
For PD, the Eagles practiced batting during a unique softball game, which included seven bases and everyone worked as one team in an attempt to stop the runners. They also had a few special guests from Peak come join in the fun.
For Art, the Eagles continued to explore different mediums. What did your Eagle create this week?
Do you prefer art projects that have step by step instructions or working on your own? This was the question the Word World Eagles faced as they worked on two very different challenges that both aim to improve hand strength. Did your Eagle prefer following step by step instructions or creating a zentangle?
Which is more important: asking questions or finding answers? This was the question the Writers’ Workshop Eagles faced as they researched a few creatures. What can your Eagle tell you about sea turtles and worms!
The post for this third and final week will be posted over break!
