Year 2. Session 3. Week 1.

Does happiness make you grateful or does being grateful make you happy?

As the Eagles return from break, the focus this short session shifts to gratitude! After doing some research on the impact of gratitude, the Eagles learned that there are four main impacts of gratitude:

  1. Gratitude opens the door to more relationships.
  2. Gratitude improves physical health.
  3. Grateful people sleep better.
  4. Gratitude improves self-esteem.

Throughout these next three weeks, the Eagles will reflect on various aspects of gratitude bringing positivity, energy and awareness to their lives inside and outside of the studio.

This session’s quest will see the Eagles travel back in time and assume the role of a hero in Ancient Greece! In Ascent Athens they’ll explore Greek life at home, making various toys and art in the Oikos. They’ll expand their knowledge in the Academia, learning how to do math like a Greek, how to write the Greek alphabet, and geography. And finally, they’ll enter the Stoa of Attalos where they will participate in philosophical discussions in the form of Socratic Smackdowns!

Writers’ Workshop will challenge the Eagles to stretch their brainstorming and pre-writing skills. This foundation will serve the writers moving forward and will leave them with tangible resources they have made to help them along their journey as authors!

Next week, the heroes will continue to uncover the mysteries of Ancient Greece while working towards a group goal to grow their skills in Socratic discussions!
