Year 3. Session 7. Week 2.

Since the Eagles are in their final session of the year, earning badges has been a topic on the minds of many Eagles. To help each other with their badge submissions, the Eagles discussed some best methods for approving and denying badges. They also reviewed how to provide feedback that is both specific and kind.

For Writers’ Workshop and World Word the Eagles continued to work on their Year in Review books. This week was all about relationships. The Eagles first challenge was to pay tribute to a friend who has impacted their life this year by writing a haiku about them or an ode to them. Then the Eagles reflected back on the experience of being new to the studio so they could write a letter to a future Eagle.

For Growing Curiosity Quest this week, one of the Eagles led their tribe through an Art Quest. The Eagles first worked on sketching before moving to painting and sculpting. Their Eagle facilitator revisited the art of pinch pots. After learning about a few techniques, the Eagles got their hands on some clay and began creating.

For Physical Development (PD), the Eagles worked with their PD coaches on getting warmed up to prepare their bodies for a soccer game. The PD committee then met to discuss what their guardrails should be for this session’s PD. With this foundation in place, the Eagles began playing Gaga Ball and Sharks and Minnows.

This week the Eagles celebrated “Backwards Day.” Stay tuned to see what theme they embrace for next week!
