Spark Year 7. Session 1. Week 3.

CONNECTIONS: Building the Tribe

This week, Spark learners deepened their sense of community as they collaborated during Spark Play and the Work Cycle. Their connections grew stronger through intentional efforts to learn each other’s names—kindly asking when forgotten—and through shared experiences that encouraged trust and teamwork.

Learners offered emotional support through words of encouragement as their peers tackled new challenges. Physical cooperation was just as evident, like when a group worked together to push a large tube up a hill, showing not just strength but unity.

The tribe is forming—one built on care, courage, and connection.

WORK CYCLE: Exploring, Engaging, and Growing

Spark learners delved deeper into their Work Cycle, becoming more familiar with the areas within their studio—including Practical Life, Sensorial, Art, Fine Motor, Early Practical Life, Culture and Science, Language, and Mathematics.

As they explored new works, learners moved with curiosity and purpose, both independently and collaboratively. In the studio, partnerships naturally formed as Sparks shared discoveries and supported each other’s learning. Outdoors, teamwork blossomed as a group came together to prepare the soil for planting food—an effort rooted in both care and contribution to their community.

Every day, the studio comes more alive with the learners’ growing confidence, connection, and curiosity.

LIVING WITHIN BOUNDARIES: Strengthening the Tribe Through Support

This week, the Spark learners continued to build a strong and caring community by helping one another stay aligned with the guardrails of the circle, studio, and Spark Play. These shared agreements are part of how the tribe cares for one another, helping everyone feel safe, respected, and empowered.

Learners were observed offering gentle reminders and stepping in with encouragement and support when needed. Through these moments, they demonstrated that living with boundaries is about connection, respect, and supporting one another as they learn and grow together.

GRACE AND COURTESY: Practicing Polite Manners Through Everyday Moments

This week, Spark learners explored and practiced polite manners—such as asking kindly, covering a cough or sneeze, sharing, taking turns, apologizing, listening, and expressing gratitude. These important social skills were woven naturally into their days through meaningful works, shared stories, and intentional modeling in the studio.
