Explore Studio Week in Review

This week, two highlights stood out.

Hero Bucks in Action. We introduced Hero Bucks, a simple studio token that recognizes responsibility and gives learners a concrete way to make and keep agreements. Learners used them to acknowledge helpful actions, repair harm, and propose fair consequences. In heated moments, council members served as neutral mediators: each side shared their perspective, reasons were weighed, and a clear resolution was accepted and recorded with Hero Bucks.

Contract Progress. Learners took a deep individual look at the Studio Contract, what resonated, what was confusing, and which line inspired them, then discussed in squads and drafted Ideal Contracts. We combined those drafts and now have two closely aligned versions. A final vote is underway, and learners are very close to finalizing their contract to guide daily choices and studio culture.

Also this week: Writer’s Workshop on epic poetry (imagery and strong verbs), a round of volleyball (teamwork and communication), and still-life drawing (proportion and shading).
